Please help! JohnWill Retired Moderator. Joined Oct 19, Messages , Wired or wireless printing should be no different, the network doesn't care how the traffic comes in.

If you can print to that printer from a wired computer, you can print from a wireless one connected to the same router. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Apologies if this has been answered before but I can't seem to find an answer that clearly confirms if it is possible or not. Just plug it in and everyone on your network can take advantage of one centrally available printer. Wirelessly, of course.

I mistakenly bought one thinking I could add my Canon MG to the Airport Extreme and then " everyone on your network can take advantage of one centrally available printer. The simple fact seems to be that if a printer is not Airprint compatible or you want to use a 3rd party application on the device or share a printer from your Mac, then you can't print from an iPad fullstop.

If I am not then I think - Shame on you apple - please clarify your marketing blurb to make it clear to all that it " everyone on your network can take advantage of one centrally available printer. Posted on Dec 3, AM. Page content loaded. And apple take airprint very literally to mean it cannot be connected by a cable. It is only going to work with a printer that connects by wireless. As you have noted.. Apple tend to be very full of themselves whenever they market a product.

And you really need to ask questions beforehand.. Apple have 14day return so if the AE doesn't suit just take it back. Everything was OK to this point, Internet, wireless network and printing were all fine. Then I tried to connect the Vista laptop. Internet and Wireless network were fine but printing was a problem. Adding from Control panel did not find any printers. So to get the wizard I had to uninstall and then reinstall bonjour from the Apple disk as the install that comes with Vista has no printer connection wizard.

Having done that, I could successfully install the printer. I then tried printing. This results in all machines and the airport base station loosing the printer. The only resolution I've found is to turn off the printer, restart the base station and avoid printing from Vista.

The same result happened with the test page and the symptoms on the Macbook Pro, XP PC and the base station were also the same. With the Epson printer, eventually after an hour or so I get a notification in a separate screen on Vista informing me of the printing error. However it's all good with XP and the Macbook Pro.

Can anybody help me??? Wednesday, July 30, AM. Monday, August 4, PM. Hi Nick, Please remove your printer driver and take following steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Thursday, July 31, AM. Here's what I had to do: configure the base station as a new network from an XP Pro computer work machine The base station is only wired to the USB printer HL reported to have compatibility issues on another site Downloaded the Airport utility because my Vista machine wouldn't read the CD for some reason.

I also have the latest firmware in the base station. Good luck.
